For more than thirty years Ophelia has been an international advisor and consultant assisting CEO’s of Fortune 500 and Johannesburg Stock Exchange companies in strategic minerals and extractive industries (oil & gas, mining – platinum, gold, industrial diamonds, uranium, coal). Her career began at Kerr McGee Oil Corporation in Oklahoma City which was later purchased by Anadarko Petroleum Corporation in 2006.
Ophelia was appointed as an International Consultant to the Managing Director of one of South Africa’s premier mining houses, Johannesburg Consolidated Investment Company. JCI is a subsidiary of the global mining and investment group Anglo American Corporation. Ophelia became one of the highest-ranking women in the mining industry and was known for creating a ‘win-win’ solution for a major labor dispute which threatened to stop the opening of one of the largest platinum refineries in the world. This success launched her career as an independent consultant, public speaker, trainer and radio and television personality.
